Why the name 'Stachanov'?
This question is not uncommon to us and that's why we provide here a short explanation as to why we decided to call our company Stachanov.

Back in 1935, in the Donets Basin coal mines of the old U.S.S.R., a mining team led by Aleksei Grigoriyevich Stachanov produced fourteen times the monthly quota set by Soviet management for the retrieval of coal. The Stachanov production team then maintained this effort in the succeeding months, and by the end of the year had exceeded its quota by 700%.

Thereafter, the most successful laborers in the Soviet Union were to be called "Stachanovites." These outperforming workers began to operate on the basis of payment by piecework, and to receive bonuses, special privileges and governmental honors. This movement encouraged workers to become more productive while also stimulating management to deal with labor, production and supply issues.

The Stachanov employees at Lamonggracht 7, like Stachanov himself, are dedicated, conscientious and hard-working. But unlike the original Stachanov, who represented the old, rigid economy, the Stachanov of today represents the New Economy. Still, the goal of the original Stachanovite movement was to reach economic prosperity through the reform of work methods and heightened productivity.
